Our Roots

Old Country Olive Oil is a premium extra virgin olive oil of the finest quality nature has to offer. It is cold-pressed, unrefined, and unfiltered. The olives are hand-picked and carefully selected from the Abdallah Family’s groves in a tiny village in the South of Lebanon. The families of this village have cared for and harvested the olives for centuries, making oil and soap for their personal use and livelihood. Today, our hearts are filled with pride as we share this piece of home with you.

George and Latifeh (Laurie) Abdallah, who immigrated to the United States in the 1960’s, started bringing a few gallons of oil for their family’s personal consumption. Word spread among friends, making for an opportunity to share this magnificent product. Today, their daughter continues their legacy, and is determined to share her parent's history and pride for more people to enjoy. We truly hope you will appreciate the rich taste of our olive oil – from our family to yours!

In today's world where most everything is processed, it is important to our family to continue harvesting our olives in the same fashion that our ancestors did centuries ago. It is with great love, care, and pride that we promise never to sacrifice quality, and continue to provide a product that is so rare and precious. It is our ultimate goal to maintain that promise.

Our oil is responsibly sourced. Our goal has never been, nor will it ever be, to mass produce. We respect our olive trees and the people who harvest them. Olive trees give once a year, which produces a limited supply and rare product. Furthermore, each bottle is hand numbered to ensure quality and emphasize exclusivity.

We give back to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. We proudly contribute $5/bottle to help find a cure, because giving back is part of who we are. Thank you for helping us make a difference and give back as we do what we love.

Meet The Owner

Rita Joubran is the daughter of George and Latifeh (Laurie) Abdallah. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas, with her older brother, George, and younger sister, Susan. Rita is married to the love of her life, Nabil Joubran, and is the mother of 3 beautiful children: Anees (AJ), Tanya, and George. Rita has been involved in the family business for as long as she can remember and has especially been fond of her family’s olive oil. Some of Rita's fondest memories are when she would travel to Lebanon on family trips where her grandmother would tell the most amazing stories about her most prized possession - her olive trees.

Rita always knew that this product was special - she just didn’t know how special until consumer demand exceeded their supply and Old Country Olive Oil started selling out almost as quickly as it arrived. As Rita became more involved in the production of her family's olive oil business - traveling to Lebanon for the picking, pressing, and bottling to ensure quality - she was more certain than ever that Old Country Olive Oil was, without a doubt, nothing short of liquid gold. There is no denying that this premium extra virgin olive oil is of the most superior quality.
